Regular Season Round 17: Angers - RAC Basket 84-102

There was a surprise result when tenth ranked Rueil (8-8) defeated on the road 4th placed Etoile Angers (9-7) 102-84 on Saturday. Rueil made 23-of-28 free shots (82.1 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. Forward Masse Doumbe (201-87, college: Keiser) stepped up and scored 18 points, 5 rebounds and 6 assists for the winners and point guard Warren Racine (189-95) chipped in 17 points and 6 assists. Point guard Jeremy Bichard (186-90) responded with a double-double by scoring 19 points, 11 assists and 4 steals and naturalized Senegalese forward Moustapha Diop (203-89) scored 14 points and 7 rebounds. Five Rueil and four Etoile Angers players scored in double figures. Rueil moved-up to ninth place in Group B. Newly promoted Etoile Angers dropped to the seventh position with seven games lost. Rueil will face higher ranked La Charite (#4) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
