Regular Season Round 18: Las Animas - Osorno 82-71

Everything went according to plan when first ranked Las Animas (14-4) defeated 6th ranked Osorno Basquetbol (7-13) in Valdivia 82-71 on Sunday. Strangely Osorno Basquetbol outrebounded Las Animas 43-31 including 29 on the defensive glass. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for American forward Arnold Louis (201-90, college: Savannah St., agency: HMS) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 15 rebounds. The former international guard Franco Morales (179-92) contributed with a double-double by scoring 13 points, 10 assists and 4 steals for the winners. Four Las Animas players scored in double figures. American forward Darnell Dodson (201-89, college: S.Mississippi) replied with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 19 rebounds and Brazilian center Dida Pereira (202-92, college: Sequoias CC) added 21 points and 6 rebounds (on 9-of-11 shooting from the field) in the effort for Osorno Basquetbol. Las Animas have an impressive ten-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 14-4 record. Loser Osorno Basquetbol keeps the sixth place with 13 games lost. Las Animas will face Puente Alto (#4) on the road in the next round. Osorno Basquetbol will play against Espanol de Talca and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
