Regular Season Round 13: LoKoKo Bisons - Jyvaskyla BA 99-96

Eighth-ranked Jyvaskyla BA (5-11) made lots of trouble for third ranked LoKoKo Bisons (10-2) in Loimaa. LoKoKo Bisons managed to secure only three-point victory 99-96. However their fans expected much easier game. The hosts were ahead by 1 point but lost the second period ending it with a 6-point deficit before their 36-27 run, which allowed them to win the game. LoKoKo Bisons dominated down low during the game scoring 72 of its points in the paint compared to Jyvaskyla BA's 26. They outrebounded Jyvaskyla BA 49-29 including a 17-6 advantage in offensive rebounds. Jyvaskyla BA was plagued by 31 personal fouls down the stretch. Worth to mention a great performance of American swingman Marcus White (198-95, college: Dickinson St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 36 points (!!!) and 10 rebounds (on 15-of-18 shooting from the field). His fellow American import forward Alex Foster (203-94, college: Albany) contributed with a double-double by scoring 17 points, 12 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. LoKoKo Bisons' coach Arttu Mannelin allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. Point guard Henry Boyd (178-99) answered with 22 points and 7 rebounds and guard Valtteri Leppanen (187-97) added 16 points in the effort for Jyvaskyla BA. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. LoKoKo Bisons moved-up to second place in Division. Jyvaskyla BA at the other side dropped to the ninth position with 11 games lost. LoKoKo Bisons will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Jyvaskyla BA will play at home against Pyrinto Akatemia (#11) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
