Regular Season Round 12: KFUM Uppsala - Hammarby 71-87

An interesting game for Hammarby (6-3) which played road game in Uppsala against 4th ranked KFUM Uppsala (4-3). Fourth ranked Hammarby had an easy win 87-71. The game was mostly controlled by Hammarby. KFUM Uppsala managed to win second period 21-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Hammarby dominated down low during the game scoring 54 of its points in the paint compared to KFUM Uppsala's 34. They outrebounded KFUM Uppsala 52-27 including a 42-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a good game for forward Leo Lightner (190-96) who led his team to a victory with 24 points. Guard Niklas Herring (182-99) contributed with 22 points for the winners. Four Hammarby players scored in double figures. Guard Samuel Eliasson Godonou (185-93) replied with 16 points and 8 rebounds and Rickard Eriksson (190-82) added 19 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for KFUM Uppsala. Both coaches used bench players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Hammarby have an impressive five-game winning streak. They moved-up to second place, which they share with Akropol. KFUM Uppsala lost third consecutive game. They dropped to the fifth position with three games lost. Hammarby will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. KFUM Uppsala will play on the road against BG Lulea (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
