Very important is a road loss of second ranked Diamond Dolphins (17-14) against sixth ranked Yokohama BC (8-23) on Sunday night. Visiting Diamond Dolphins were defeated by Yokohama BC in a tough game in Yokohama 68-73. Yokohama BC looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. It was an exceptional evening for Tanzanian center Hasheem Thabeet (218-87, college: Connecticut) who led the winners and scored 28 points, 5 rebounds and 9 assists. The former international guard Takuya Kawamura (193-86) accounted for 24 points and 5 rebounds for the winning side. American Markeith Cummings (198-88, college: Kennesaw St.) came up with a double-double by scoring 12 points, 12 rebounds and 4 assists and the former international guard Shuto Ando (189-94) added 17 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for Diamond Dolphins in the defeat. Four Diamond Dolphins players scored in double figures. Yokohama BC moved-up to fifth place, which they share with Fukuoka Rizing and Hokkaido L. Loser Diamond Dolphins keep the second position with 14 games lost. Yokohama BC will meet San-en NeoPhoenix (#5) in the next round. Diamond Dolphins will play against Shiga L-Stars and hope to secure a win.
