Regular Season Round 23: Saitama Bron. - Tokyo Excel. 94-101

B League D3 top team - Tokyo Excel. (15-1) added another victory to their record on Sunday. This time they beat fifth ranked Saitama Broncos (7-9) 101-94. Tokyo Excel. looked well-organized offensively handing out 29 assists. American players dominated the game. Forward Jordan Faison (201-94, college: Cal Poly Pomona) orchestrated the victory with a double-double by scoring 33 points (!!!), 11 rebounds and 6 assists. Center Ryan Stephan (208-94, college: Colorado Mesa) contributed with a double-double by scoring 22 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists for the winners. Tokyo Excel.'s coach used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Center Joshua Crawford (211-88, college: Indiana St.) answered with a double-double by scoring 19 points and 16 rebounds and Darnell Martin (198-91, college: CS Dominguez H.) added 20 points and 10 rebounds in the effort for Saitama Broncos. Four Tokyo Excel. and five Saitama Broncos players scored in double figures. Tokyo Excel. have an impressive series of five victories in a row. They maintain first place with 15-1 record. Saitama Broncos lost sixth consecutive game. They dropped to the sixth position with nine games lost. Tokyo Excel. will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Saitama Broncos will play on the road against Kagoshima (#8) in Renova and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
