Regular Season Round 30: Cyberdyne IR - Kumamoto V. 82-80

Round 30 in B2 League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Tsukuba where host Cyberdyne IR (21-9) edged league's leader Kumamoto V. (21-9) 82-80 on Sunday evening. It was a key game for the second position in the league. Cyberdyne IR outrebounded Kumamoto V. 41-27 including 30 on the defensive glass. The best player for the winners was American forward Scootie Randall (198-90, college: Temple) who had a double-double by scoring 24 points, 17 rebounds and 5 assists. Swingman Josei Maniwa (193-86) chipped in 18 points. Cyberdyne IR's coach Kazuto Uehara used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the other side the best for losing team was American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who recorded 24 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists and Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) added 13 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists respectively. Four Kumamoto V. players scored in double figures. Cyberdyne IR have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 21-9 record behind leader Shinshu BW, which they share with Kumamoto V. and Sendai 89ers. Kumamoto V. will play next round against Kagawa FA trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Cyberdyne IR will try to continue on its current victory against sixth ranked Aomori Watts on the road.
