An interesting game took place in Thessaloniki where 8th ranked Ifestos (6-6) was upset on the court of eleventh ranked Aris (3-9) 65-54 on Sunday. It ended at the same time the three-game winning streak of Ifestos. The game was mostly controlled by Aris. Ifestos managed to win third quarter 17-14. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They dominated on the defensive end, holding Ifestos to just 6 points in second quarter. Aris forced 24 Ifestos turnovers. Americans were the main players on the court. The best player for the winners was center Gary McGhee (209-88, college: Pittsburgh, agency: Inception Sports) who had a double-double by scoring 11 points and 10 rebounds. Guard Gary Bell (192-92, college: Gonzaga, agency: Higher Vision Sports) chipped in 16 points. Both coaches used bench players and allowed the starting five to rest. Aris moved-up to tenth place, which they share with Panionios. Loser Ifestos dropped to the seventh position with six games lost. They share it with Holargos. Aris will meet Cretan Kings (#13) in the next round. Ifestos will play against Lavrio (#9) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
