Regular Season Round 15: Unia Tarnow - Wisla Krakow 62-101

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Unia Tarnow (6-9) was outleveled at home by fourth ranked Wisla Krakow (11-4) 101-62 on Sunday. Wisla Krakow dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Unia Tarnow's 24. They outrebounded Unia Tarnow 35-21 including 23 on the defensive glass. Wisla Krakow looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists comparing to just 7 passes made by Unia Tarnow's players. It was a good game for guard Rafal Zglobicki (196-94) who led his team to a victory with 17 points and 6 rebounds. Michal Chrabota (193-99) contributed with 14 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Four Wisla Krakow players scored in double figures. Guard Tomasz Bryzek (195-86) answered with 14 points and 9 rebounds and guard Jacek Sulowski (192-79) added 11 points in the effort for Unia Tarnow. Since the result was very predictable, it gave the chance for the coaches to test many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. The victory was the seventh consecutive win for Wisla Krakow. They moved-up to second place in Group C, which they share with AZS UJK Kielce and Polonia Bytom. Unia Tarnow lost their third game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the ninth position with nine games lost. Wisla Krakow will face Bielsko-Biala (#13) at home in the next round which should be another easy win for them. Unia Tarnow will play against Tarnowskie Gory (#5) and hope to win that game.
