There was a small surprise when sixteenth ranked Cecina (3-12) defeated at home 13th ranked Montecatiniterme (6-9) 98-84 on Sunday. Cecina dominated down low during the game scoring 46 of its points in the paint compared to Montecatiniterme's 24. It was a good game for guard Marco Mennella (191-99) who led his team to a victory with 32 points and 8 rebounds. Naturalized Senegalese Samuel Gaye-Serigne (198-96, agency: Players Group) contributed with 27 points for the winners. Naturalized Argentinian swingman Franco Migliori (200-82) answered with 23 points and 5 rebounds and point guard Guido Meini (186-79) added 14 points and 5 assists in the effort for Montecatiniterme. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Cecina moved-up to fifteenth place in B, which they share with Desio and Lugo. Loser Montecatiniterme dropped to the twelfth position with nine games lost. Cecina will face league's leader Omegna at home in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
