Not a big story in a game when 14th ranked Catanzaro (2-12) lost at home to fifth ranked Civitanova (9-6) 74-69 on Sunday. Strangely Catanzaro outrebounded Civitanova 32-11 including a 26-8 advantage in defensive rebounds. It was a great shooting night for Civitanova especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. Catanzaro was plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a good game for forward Riccardo Coviello (195-88) who led his team to a victory with 17 points. Forward Attilio Pierini (201-81) contributed with 20 points for the winners. Franco Gaetano (-99, agency: Players Group) answered with 14 points and 9 rebounds and center Andrea Locci (203-93) added 12 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Catanzaro. Four Catanzaro players scored in double figures. Civitanova moved-up to third place in B, which they share with 4 other teams. Loser Catanzaro keeps the fourteenth position with 12 games lost. Civitanova will face Campli (#15) on the road in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Catanzaro will play against Bisceglie and hope to win that game.
