Regular Season Round 16: Espoo Team - HyPo 87-99

The game between Top Four teams took place in Espoo. Their biggest opponent host Espoo Team (10-5) lost to first ranked HyPo (13-3) 99-87. The game was mostly controlled by HyPo. Espoo Team managed to win second period 26-20. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. HyPo dominated down low during the game scoring 58 of its points in the paint compared to Espoo Team's 36. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 30 assists. 24 personal fouls committed by Espoo Team helped opponents get some easy free throw opportunities. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international center Taru Tuukkanen (192-77, college: Xavier) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 34 points (!!!), 15 rebounds and 8 assists and American guard Randi Brown (170-96, college: New Orleans) who added 34 points (!!!), 10 rebounds and 5 assists during the contest. HyPo's coach Miikka Sopanen used an eleven-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side American forward Delaney Hodgins (184-96, college: E.Washington, agency: Interperformances) responded with a double-double by scoring 26 points and 11 rebounds and her fellow American import forward Kamilah Jackson (181-92, college: Hawaii) scored 9 points, 18 rebounds and 5 assists. HyPo have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain first position with 13-3 record. Espoo Team at the other side dropped to the third place with five games lost. HyPo are looking forward to face Forssan Alku (#5) at home in the next round. Espoo Team will play against Tapiolan Honka and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
