No shocking result in a game when second ranked Salerno (13-2) crushed at home 13th ranked Pozzuoli (4-11) 89-61 on Sunday. Salerno made 22-of-27 free shots (81.5 percent) during the game. It was a good game for forward Lorenzo Tortu (200-92) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 12 rebounds. Power forward Paolo Paci (204-90) contributed with 10 points and 9 rebounds for the winners. Five Salerno players scored in double figures. Salerno's coach Orlando Menduto felt very confident that he used 10 players which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Ernesto Carrichiello (196-84) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 11 rebounds and naturalized Argentinian point guard Matias Di Marco (179-84, agency: Players Group) added 15 points in the effort for Pozzuoli. Salerno maintains second place in B with 13-2 record behind leader Deco Caserta. Newly promoted Pozzuoli dropped to the fourteenth position with 11 games lost. Salerno will face league's leader Deco in Caserta in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Pozzuoli will play on the road against IUL Tiber (#10) in Roma and hope to win that game.
