The most exciting game of round 12 in the D1 took place in Ramat Hen. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 7th ranked Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion (5-7) to third ranked Maccabi Ramat Gan (8-4) 83-80 on Monday evening. Maccabi Ramat Gan outrebounded Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion 42-29 including 33 on the defensive glass. The best for the losing side was American point guard Ashleigh Fontenette (172-89, college: Texas) with a double-double by scoring 20 points, 10 rebounds and 7 assists and her fellow American import power forward Jillian Alleyne (190-94, college: Oregon) produced a double-double by scoring 20 points and 11 rebounds. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Maccabi Ramat Gan moved-up to second place, which they share with Holon and Petah Tikva. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion at the other side keeps the seventh position with seven games lost. Maccabi Ramat Gan is looking forward to face Ramat Hasharon (#8) on the road in the next round where they are favorite. Hapoel Rishon Le-Zion will play against Bnot Hertzeliya and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
