Regular Season Round 7: Al Khor - Al Shamal 78-80

Eighth-ranked Al Khor (1-6) made lots of trouble for second ranked Al Shamal (6-1) on Tuesday. The visitors from Doha managed to secure only two-point victory 80-78. However their fans expected much easier game. Algerian forward Mohamed Harath (198-90) fired a double-double by scoring 25 points and 18 rebounds for the winners. Georgian point guard Giorgi Tsintsadze (192-86) chipped in a double-double by scoring 18 points and 10 assists. Five Al Shamal players scored in double figures. American point guard Ameer Jackson (193-94, college: Winston Salem) produced 32 points, 9 rebounds and 6 assists and the other American import guard Terrence Joyner (190-88, college: Miss.Valley St.) added 19 points, 5 rebounds and 5 assists respectively for lost side. Al Shamal have a solid series of four victories in a row. They keep a position of league leader, which they share with Al Sadd. Al Khor at the other side keeps the eighth place with six games lost. Al Shamal's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Doha Al Rayyan.
