Twentieth-ranked Bayi Rockets (6-24) made lots of trouble for first ranked Flying Leopards (26-4) in Ningbo on Tuesday. The visitors from Yingkou managed to secure only two-point victory 96-94. However their fans expected much easier game. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Flying Leopards made 7 blocks. American forward Brandon Bass (203-85, college: LSU, agency: IPZ) fired 29 points and 8 rebounds (made all of his seven free throws) for the winners. His fellow American import Lester Hudson (190-84, college: Tenn-Martin) chipped in 23 points. Tianyu Xiang produced 24 points and 5 rebounds and the former international center ZhongHao Xu (212-90) added 13 points, 10 rebounds and 4 assists respectively for lost side. Four Flying Leopards and five Bayi Rockets players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Flying Leopards have an impressive series of fifteen victories in a row. Defending champion maintains first place with 26-4 record, which they share with Guangdong ST. Bayi Rockets lost third consecutive game. They stay dead last with 24 lost games. Flying Leopards is looking forward to face Eagles (#15) in Qingdao in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Bayi Rockets will play at home against Zhejiang Guangsha Lions (#4) and are hoping to prove to their supporters that they can break losing series.
