Regular Season Round 29: Capitanes - Lenadores 100-88

An interesting game for Capitanes (18-9) which hosted in Mexico 3rd placed Lenadores (15-11). First ranked Capitanes managed to get a 12-point victory 100-88. Capitanes dominated down low during the game scoring 60 of its points in the paint compared to Lenadores' 38. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 25 assists. The best player for the winners was the former international guard Gabriel Giron (192-88) who scored 23 points. Dominican guard Rigoberto Mendoza (190-92) chipped in 14 points, 7 rebounds and 6 assists. Four Capitanes players scored in double figures. Capitanes' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Naturalized Puerto Rican guard Joseph Soto (190-93) produced a double-double by scoring 19 points and 10 assists and American-Lebanese power forward Jarrid Famous (209-88, college: S.Florida) added 19 points and 9 rebounds (was perfect 9-for-9 from the free throw line !!!) respectively for the guests. Capitanes maintains first place with 18-9 record. Newly promoted Lenadores keep the third position with 11 games lost. Capitanes' next round opponent will be Angeles (#7) in Puebla which should be theoretically an easy game. Lenadores will play on the road against Correcaminos (#4) in Ciudad Victoria and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
