Regular Season Round 29: Laguneros - Abejas 93-90

The most exciting game of round 29 in the LNBP took place in Torreon. This derby game ended with only three-point defeat on the road of 5th ranked Abejas (12-16) to fifth ranked Laguneros (12-14) 93-90 in the game for the fifth place. Laguneros shot the lights out from three sinking 15 long-distance shots on high 51.7 percentage. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Rayes Gallegos (188-90, college: Nebraska) orchestrated the victory by scoring 26 points. Jamaican-American guard Akeem Scott (185-83, college: High Point) contributed with 11 points, 7 rebounds and 9 assists for the winners. Scott is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. American-Panamanian point guard Trevor Gaskins (188-89, college: Louisiana Tech, agency: Pro Sports) answered with 22 points and 5 rebounds and American forward Onzie Branch (198-91, college: Gardner-Webb) added 18 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Abejas. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Newly promoted Laguneros maintains fifth place with 12-14 record which they share with defeated Abejas. Abejas at the other side keep the fifth position with 16 games lost. Laguneros are looking forward to face league's second-placed Fuerza Regia in Monterrey in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory. Abejas will have a break next round.
