Regular Season Round 21: Handlova - Prievidza 74-76

The most exciting game of round 21 in the SBL took place in Handlova. This derby game ended with only two-point home defeat of 8th ranked Handlova (5-14) to fifth ranked Prievidza (9-9) 76-74 on Wednesday evening. It was a good game for American guard Tim Derksen (192-93, college: USF) who led his team to a victory with 22 points and 7 rebounds. Canadian point guard Jahmal Jones (183-91, college: Ryerson) contributed with 14 points and 5 assists for the winners. International center Michal Cekovsky (211-94, college: Maryland, agency: Octagon Europe) answered with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 12 rebounds and American point guard KC Ross-Miller (183-91, college: Auburn) added 16 points and 9 assists in the effort for Handlova. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Prievidza maintains fifth place with 9-9 record. Handlova lost tenth consecutive game. They keep the eighth position with 14 games lost. Prievidza are looking forward to face bottom-ranked Lucenec (#9) at home in the next round. Handlova will play against Nova Ves and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
