Regular Season Round 12: Snaefell - FSU 58-72

Bottom-ranked Snaefell (0-12) is still winless. This time they could not use their home court advantage losing their 12th consecutive match to sixth ranked FSU (5-7) 72-58 on Friday evening. The game was mostly controlled by FSU. Snaefell managed to win third quarter 18-16. But it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. They outrebounded Snaefell 45-29 including a 31-19 advantage in defensive rebounds. The best player for the winners was American forward Marvin Smith (198, college: USC Upstate) who had a double-double by scoring 29 points and 14 rebounds. Point guard Ari Gylfason (186-89) chipped in 9 points and 8 rebounds. At the other side the best for losing team was naturalized American forward Darrell Flake (193-80, college: McKendree) who recorded a double-double by scoring 14 points and 13 rebounds and Lithuanian point guard Dominykas Zupkauskas (183-96) added 17 points, 6 assists and 4 steals respectively. Snaefell's coach Vladimir Ivankovic rotated ten players and allowed the starting five to rest. FSU maintains sixth position with 5-7 record. Loser Snaefell still closes the standings with 12 games lost. FSU will meet Sindri (#7) in the next round. Snaefell will play against the league's leader Thor AK in Akureyri and hopes to get finally their first victory.
