There was a surprise result when seventeenth ranked Caceres Basket (5-13) edged at home higher ranked Real Canoe (7-10) 65-63 on Friday. Strangely Real Canoe outrebounded Caceres Basket 36-23 including 25 on the defensive glass. Guard Luis Parejo (194-89) orchestrated the victory by scoring 17 points. American forward Cole Huff (203-94, college: Creighton, agency: Slash Sports) contributed with 14 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Jose-Miguel Perez (202-96) answered with a double-double by scoring 32 points and 10 rebounds and forward Ander Martinez (199-95, agency: Duran International) added 9 points and 7 rebounds in the effort for Real Canoe. Caceres Basket maintains seventeenth place with 5-13 record. Newly promoted Real Canoe dropped to the thirteenth position with ten games lost. Caceres Basket will face higher ranked Barca II (#14) in Barcelona in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
