Regular Season Round 13: Kings - Breakers 100-92

NBL top team - Kings (13-7) added another victory to their record on Friday. This time they beat sixth ranked New Zealand Breakers (8-10) in Sydney 100-92. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of New Zealand Breakers. Kings looked well-organized offensively handing out 24 assists. It was a very good performance for American forward David Wear (208-90, college: UCLA) who helped to win the game recording 19 points and 9 rebounds. The former international guard Kevin Lisch (188-86, college: St.Louis) contributed with 20 points and 5 assists for the winners. Kings' coach Andrew Gaze used a ten-player rotation and allowed the starting five to get some rest. American forward Shawn Long (208-93, college: La-Lafayette, agency: Pensack Sports) answered with a double-double by scoring 20 points and 10 rebounds and American-Guamanian forward Tai Wesley (201-86, college: Utah St.) added 16 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists in the effort for New Zealand Breakers. Four Kings and five New Zealand Breakers players scored in double figures. Kings maintains first place with 13-7 record. Loser New Zealand Breakers dropped to the seventh position with ten games lost. Kings will face Adelaide 36ers (#5) in Findon in the next round. New Zealand Breakers will play on the road against Cairns Taipans and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
