There was no surprise when 15th ranked Movil Estudiantes (5-11) was defeated on the road by fourth ranked Unicaja Malaga (11-5) 82-76 on Saturday. However just six-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. Movil Estudiantes trailed by 14 points after 3 quarters before a 24-16 run in the last quarter cut the deficit to 76-82 at the end of the game. Canadian forward Kyle Wiltjer (208-92, college: Gonzaga) fired 13 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Georgian center Giorgi Shermadini (217-89) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Unicaja Malaga's coach Luis Casimiro used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. Italian swingman Alessandro Gentile (200-92) produced 17 points and 6 rebounds and international guard Dario Brizuela (196-94) added 15 points respectively for lost side. Unicaja Malaga maintains fourth position with 11-5 record. Loser Movil Estudiantes keeps the fifteenth place with 11 games lost. Unicaja Malaga will face Blusens Monbus (#12) in Santiago de Comp in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Movil Estudiantes will play at home against Gipuzkoa and hope to win that game.
