Not a big story in a game in Roma where 14th ranked Pozzuoli (4-12) was edged by tenth ranked IUL Tiber (7-9) 68-67 on Saturday. However just one-point win is not that big difference and the fans of host team counted on more convincing victory. IUL Tiber dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Pozzuoli's 28. They outrebounded Pozzuoli 45-31 including 34 on the defensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of the former international Federico Lestini (204-83, agency: SPORTlab Agency) who helped to win the game recording 18 points and 7 rebounds and the former international guard Giuliano Maresca (192-80) who added 14 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists during the contest. IUL Tiber's coach Renato Sabatino used a ten-player rotation in such tough game. At the losing side the former international guard Gennaro Tessitore (189-82) responded with 27 points and power forward Matteo Bini (200-94) scored 21 points. IUL Tiber maintains tenth position in B with 7-9 record. Newly promoted Pozzuoli keeps the fourteenth place with 12 games lost. IUL Tiber will face higher ranked Olimpia Matera (#4) on the road in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game. Pozzuoli will play against Scauri (#9) and hope to win that game.
