A very interesting game took place in Almansa. It ended with only one-point home defeat of 4th placed Almansa (10-7) to fifth ranked Girona Basquet (11-7) 71-70 in the game for the fourth place. Forward Jordi Trias (208-80) nailed 20 points for the winning side and Robert Cosialls (203-96) accounted for 10 points. Girona Basquet's coach allowed to play the deep bench players in such tough game. American-Puerto Rican guard Bobby Harris (185-91, college: Amer.Internat.) came up with 21 points and 4 assists and Senegalese forward Lamine Dieng (203-92, college: Pittsburg St.) added 18 points and 6 rebounds (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) respectively for Almansa in the defeat. Girona Basquet moved-up to fourth place in Silver. Almansa at the other side, also newcomer in the league, dropped to the fifth position with seven games lost. Girona Basquet's next round opponent will be La Roda (#9) at home which should be theoretically an easy game. Almansa will play against Menorca (#8) in Mahon and hope to win that game.
