The game in Sao Paulo supposed to be also quite interesting. Fourth ranked Flamengo (11-4) played at the court of 7th ranked Corinthians (6-9). Flamengo smashed Corinthians 91-68 on Saturday. They outrebounded Corinthians 34-20 including 26 on the defensive glass. It was a great shooting night for Flamengo especially from behind the arc, where they had solid 52.6 percentage. The winners were led by the former international Marquinhos Vieira (207-84) who scored that evening 22 points and 4 assists and Argentinian point guard Franco Balbi (185-89) supported him with 19 points, 7 assists and 4 steals. Five Flamengo players scored in double figures. Even 17 points (made all of his seven free throws) by the former international point guard Humberto Silva (195-95) did not help to save the game for Corinthians. Uruguayan point guard Luciano Parodi (182-94) added 13 points for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Flamengo have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain fourth position with 11-4 record, which they share with Mogi. Loser Corinthians dropped to the eighth place with nine games lost. Flamengo will meet at home Sao Jose (#10) in the next round where they are favorite. Corinthians' supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will face at home their local rival from Sao Paulo Pinheiros.
