Regular Season Round 19: Puente Alto - Osorno 83-73

Rather predictable result when fourth ranked Puente Alto (11-10) defeated at home 6th ranked Osorno Basquetbol (8-14) 83-73 on Saturday. Puente Alto made 29-of-35 free shots (82.9 percent) during the game. Osorno Basquetbol was plagued by 30 personal fouls down the stretch. It was a great evening for American Rakim Brown (198-91, college: Humboldt St.) who led his team to a victory scoring 31 points and 7 rebounds. His fellow American import forward Jerome Hill (198-94, college: Gardner-Webb, agency: Interperformances) helped adding 17 points and 18 rebounds. Puente Alto's coach Pablo Ares used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. At the losing side Brazilian center Dida Pereira (202-92, college: Sequoias CC) responded with a double-double by scoring 31 points and 13 rebounds (on 12-of-15 shooting from the field) and American forward Darnell Dodson (201-89, college: S.Mississippi) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 15 rebounds. The victory was the third consecutive win for Puente Alto. They moved-up to third place, which they share with AB Ancud and CDU Concepcion. Osorno Basquetbol lost their third game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 14 games lost. Puente Alto will face league's leader Temuco on the road in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Osorno Basquetbol will play against the league's second-placed Los Leones (#2) and hope to win that game.
