Regular Season Round 14: Adelaide - Melbourne 83-98

Round 14 most important game was a victory of Boomers over one of their biggest challengers Adelaide Lightning 98-83 on Saturday night. Boomers looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. American guard Lindsay Allen (173-95, college: Notre Dame) orchestrated the victory by scoring 22 points and 8 assists. The former international Jenna OHea (185-87) contributed with a double-double by scoring 11 points, 13 rebounds and 5 assists for the winners. Boomers' coach Guy Molloy used a ten-player rotation which allowed the starters a little rest for the next games. American forward Nia Coffey (185-95, college: Northwestern, agency: LBM Management) replied with 26 points and 5 rebounds and Canadian center Kayla Alexander (193-91, college: Syracuse, agency: LBM Management) added 21 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Adelaide Lightning. Five Boomers and four Adelaide Lightning players scored in double figures. Boomers maintains second position with 13-7 record having just two points less than leader UC Capitals, which they share with Perth. Adelaide Lightning at the other side keeps the fourth place with eight games lost. Boomers is looking forward to face Dandenong Rangers (#5) on the road in the next round. Adelaide Lightning will play against Perth Lynx and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
