There was no surprise when 16th ranked Provence Basket (4-12) was defeated on the road by second ranked Pau-Lacq-Orthez (11-5) 84-77 on Saturday. Pau-Lacq-Orthez looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American CJ Harris (191-91, college: Wake Forest, agency: Pensack Sports) fired 23 points and 4 assists for the winners. Zimbabwean power forward Vitalis Chikoko (208-91) chipped in 14 points and 6 rebounds. Pau-Lacq-Orthez's coach Laurent Vila allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Point guard Edouard Choquet (188-88) produced a double-double by scoring 13 points, 6 rebounds and 10 assists and American Marcus Dove (206-85, college: Oklahoma St.) added 14 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Provence Basket players scored in double figures. Pau-Lacq-Orthez have a solid three-game winning streak. They maintain second position with 11-5 record having just two points less than leader ASVEL. Newly promoted Provence Basket keeps the sixteenth place with 12 games lost. They share the position with Cholet. Pau-Lacq-Orthez will meet Limoges CSP Elite (#9) on the road in the next round and are hoping to win another game.
