Regular Season Round 16: Innova Chef - Culleredo 68-64

EBA round 16 caused change at the leadership position. Fourth defeat of league's leader Culleredo (8-4) against third ranked Innova Chef (9-3) 68-64 was the most important game of the last round. It ended at the same time the two-game winning streak of Culleredo. It was a key game for the top position in Group A-B. Innova Chef dominated down low during the game scoring 50 of its points in the paint compared to Culleredo's 30. Great defensive blocking was one of the keys in this match when Innova Chef made 8 blocks. Worth to mention a great performance of Nigerian-American guard Rob Ukawuba (191-94, college: NJIT) who helped to win the game recording 15 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists. American center Mike Chandler (203-92) contributed with 8 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks for the winners. Georgian swingman Luka Bulashvili (192-98) replied with 26 points and 6 rebounds and American forward Trevin Woods (198-96, college: Arkansas Tech) added 20 points and 9 rebounds in the effort for Culleredo. Culleredo's coach Luis Folla rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Innova Chef have an impressive nine-game winning streak. They keep a position of Group A-B leader, which they share with Leon. Culleredo at the other side dropped to the third place with four games lost. They share the position with Chantada and Ponferrada CDP. They were replaced at the leadership position by Algeciras. Culleredo will play next round against Naron trying to make it back to the top of the standings. Innova Chef will try to continue on its current victory against seventh ranked Estudiantes L. in Lugo.
