Very important is a home loss of third ranked Leganes (9-4) against eighth ranked ASEFA Estudiantes (7-6) on Sunday night. Host Leganes was defeated by ASEFA Estudiantes in Leganes 96-82. ASEFA Estudiantes made 20-of-26 charity shots (76.9 percent) during the game. Strangely Leganes outrebounded ASEFA Estudiantes 42-29 including a 19-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. Four ASEFA Estudiantes players scored in double figures. ASEFA Estudiantes' coach allowed to play the deep bench players saving starting five for next games. Swingman Maria Espin (180-89, agency: Best of You Sports) answered with 17 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and center Daira Varas (193-89) added 9 points and 16 rebounds in the effort for Leganes. ASEFA Estudiantes moved-up to sixth place in Group B, which they share with Alcobendas and Real Canoe. Leganes at the other side keeps the third position with four games lost. They share it with Almeria. ASEFA Estudiantes will play against higher ranked Picken Claret (#5) in Valencia in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
