Very expected game when 6th ranked Alfinden (6-7) lost to first ranked Pardinyes-L. (12-1) in Zaragoza 62-73 on Sunday. Strangely Alfinden outrebounded Pardinyes-L. 43-31 including 31 on the defensive glass. Quite impressive performance for power forward Juan Oliva (204-97) who helped to win the game recording 17 points and 6 rebounds. American swingman Wendell Davis (198-95, college: Ashland, agency: Dynamics Global Management) contributed with 9 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Power forward Jose Malo (203-96) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and forward Jorge Cano (201-91, college: Bened.-Mesa) added 11 points and 5 rebounds in the effort for Alfinden. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Pardinyes-L. have an impressive five-game winning streak. They maintain first position in Group C-B with 12-1 record. Newly promoted Alfinden keeps the sixth place with seven games lost. Pardinyes-L. will face bottom-ranked Palma II (#10) in S'Arenal in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Alfinden will play on the road against Sant Josep (#6) in Badalona and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
