Regular Season Round 31: Kumamoto V. - Kagawa FA 73-72

Sixth-ranked Kagawa FA (7-23) gave a tough game to second ranked Kumamoto V. (22-9). Kumamoto V. managed to secure only one-point victory 73-72. However their fans expected much easier game. Kumamoto V. outrebounded Kagawa FA 46-33 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Their players were unselfish on offense dishing 24 assists. Worth to mention a great performance of American forward Chehales Tapscott (195-90, college: Portland St.) who helped to win the game recording a double-double by scoring 19 points and 11 rebounds. Dutch-Australian power forward Josh Duinker (209-89, college: Richmond) contributed with 15 points and 8 rebounds for the winners. American guard Terrance Woodbury (201-87, college: Georgia) answered with a double-double by scoring 30 points and 17 rebounds and guard Kanji Takahira (185-93) added 14 points in the effort for Kagawa FA. Kagawa FA's coach Kohei Etoh let to play ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Kumamoto V. maintains second place with 22-9 record behind leader Shinshu BW, which they share with Cyberdyne IR. Kagawa FA lost their ninth game in a row. They keep the sixth position with 23 games lost. Kumamoto V.'s next round opponent will be league's leader Gunma on the road and it will be for sure the game of the week.
