Regular Season Round 31: Tokyo HT - Nishinomiya S. 68-84

Date: January 15, 2019
Not a big story in a game when 6th ranked Tokyo HT (3-28) was defeated at home by third ranked Nishinomiya S. (14-17) 84-68 on Tuesday. Nishinomiya S. looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a great evening for American center Brad Waldow (208-91, college: St.Mary's, CA, agency: Octagon Europe) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 27 points and 13 rebounds. His fellow American import guard Draelon Burns (194-85, college: DePaul) helped adding 23 points, 6 rebounds and 9 assists. At the losing side American power forward Alex Jones (206-87, college: Seattle) responded with 38 points (!!!) and 8 rebounds and guard Hiroya Ogane (180-89) scored 6 points, 8 rebounds and 5 assists. Both coaches allowed to play bench players saving starting five for next games. Nishinomiya S. maintains third place with 14-17 record having nine points less than leader Shinshu BW, which they share with Fukushima. Tokyo HT lost their fourteenth game in a row. Newly promoted team keeps the sixth position with 28 games lost. Nishinomiya S. will face Bambitious Nara (#5) at home in the next round. Tokyo HT will play against Aomori Watts and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
