CIU smashed Tbilisi at home 93-62. The game without a history. CIU led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. They dominated down low during the game scoring 52 of its points in the paint compared to Tbilisi's 28. They outrebounded Tbilisi 49-38 including 20 on the offensive glass. Worth to mention a great performance of American center Wendell Lewis (208-89, college: Alabama St., agency: HMS) who helped to win the game recording 20 points and 7 rebounds. Forward Konstantine Bitsadze (195-97) contributed with 10 points and 7 rebounds for the winners. Four CIU players scored in double figures. Forward Vasil Beruashvili (198-90) answered with a double-double by scoring 22 points and 13 rebounds and guard Aleksandre Megeneishvili (188-93) added 18 points in the effort for Tbilisi. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Tbilisi will play next round against strong MBG trying to get back on the winning streak. CIU will try to continue on its current victory against Vera on the road.
