Regular Season Round 14: Gries/Oberhoffen - Nancy 81-84

The most shocking disappointment of round 14 in the ProB was only three-point a home defeat of 5th ranked Gries/Oberhoffen (8-6) to sixth ranked Sluc Nancy (9-5) 84-81. Sluc Nancy looked well-organized offensively handing out 22 assists. American forward Marcellus Sommerville (200-82, college: Bradley) scored 16 points and 5 rebounds to lead the charge for the winners and center Bastien Vautier (210-98) chipped in 12 points, 8 rebounds and 4 blocks (on 6-of-7 shooting from the field) during the contest. Sluc Nancy's coach Christian Monschau used an eleven-player rotation in such tough game. Spanish guard Javier Forcada (193-88) responded with 22 points and 4 assists and power forward Ywen Smock (204-96, agency: Octagon Europe) scored 19 points and 7 rebounds (on 8-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Gries/Oberhoffen players scored in double figures. Sluc Nancy moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Saint-Chamond. Newly promoted Gries/Oberhoffen dropped to the sixth position with six games lost. Sluc Nancy is looking forward to face Poitiers (#11) at home in the next round and are hoping to win another game. Gries/Oberhoffen will play against Caen (#17) and is hoping to win this game.
