There was a small surprise when eleventh ranked UU-Korihait (5-16) edged 9th ranked Lapuan Korikobrat (7-15) in Uusikaupunki 79-78 on Wednesday. The hosts trailed by 8 points after first quarter, but they rallied back winning next two quarters and won the game by 1 point. American players dominated the game. Forward Brandon Conley (201-93, college: ORU) saved the victory by scoring 18 points and 8 rebounds. Guard Mario Edwards (191-88, college: Co.Carolina) contributed with 16 points and 4 assists for the winners. Four UU-Korihait players scored in double figures. Guard Larry Anderson (195-89, college: Long Beach St.) answered with 20 points, 9 rebounds and 7 assists and guard Khalil Small (188, college: Green Bay) added 22 points, 9 rebounds and 4 assists in the effort for Lapuan Korikobrat. UU-Korihait maintains eleventh place with 5-16 record. Lapuan Korikobrat at the other side keeps the ninth position with 15 games lost. UU-Korihait will face higher ranked BC Nokia (#6) on the road in the next round and it will be quite challenging to get another victory.
