Rather predictable result in Belo Horizonte where eighth ranked Sao Jose (6-10) defeated 10th ranked Minas (6-10) 80-75 on Wednesday. Sao Jose made 22-of-25 free shots (88.0 percent) during the game. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. The best player for the winners was Argentinian point guard Fabian Sahdi (186-89) who scored 19 points and 8 assists (was perfect 10-for-10 from the free throw line !!!). Douglas Nunes (208-87) chipped in 13 points and 5 rebounds. Four Sao Jose players scored in double figures. Wesley Ferreira (201-95) produced a double-double by scoring 23 points and 11 rebounds and the former international point guard George-Yeye Torres (188-91) added 7 points, 6 rebounds and 13 assists respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Sao Jose maintains eighth place with 6-10 record, which they share with Corinthians and Minas. Minas lost their third game in a row. Sao Jose will have a break next round, and it should allow them to practice more before next game. Minas will play against Mogi (#3) in Mogi das Cruzes and hope to secure a win.
