Regular Season Round 12: Gorizont - Olimpia 77-75

The most exciting game of round 12 in the Premier League took place in Minsk. This derby game ended with only two-point defeat on the road of one of their biggest challengers Olimpia (10-3) to second ranked Gorizont (11-2) 77-75 in the game for the second place. The hosts took control from the first minutes by winning the initial quarter 21-16. But Olimpia won second period 19-15. However it was not enough to take a lead and get a victory that evening. Gorizont looked well-organized offensively handing out 21 assists. It was a good game for Serbian power forward Bojana Stevanovic (180-96, agency: LBM Management) who led her team to a victory with 19 points and 9 rebounds. The former international center Marina Kress (193-80) contributed with 15 points and 6 rebounds for the winners. Forward Natallia Dashkevich (188-88) replied with 17 points and 7 rebounds and forward Nadzeya Nadzezhka (180-87) added 14 points and 8 rebounds in the effort for Olimpia. Four Olimpia players scored in double figures. Gorizont maintains second position with 11-2 record having just two points less than leader Tsmoki-Minsk. Olimpia at the other side keeps the third place with three games lost. Gorizont's supporters look forward to an exciting derby game next round, where their team will travel locally in Minsk to the arena Tsmoki-Minsk.
