Very expected game in Akureyri where bottom-ranked Snaefell (0-13) was rolled over by first ranked Thor AK (12-1) 97-62 on Friday. The game without a history. Thor AK led from the first minutes and controlled entire game increasing their lead in each quarter. Thor AK forced 21 Snaefell turnovers and outrebounded them 42-25 including a 17-4 advantage in offensive rebounds. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 25 assists comparing to just 11 passes made by Snaefell's players. Snaefell was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. American guard Larry Thomas (185-93, college: Birm.Southern) fired 12 points, 9 rebounds, 8 assists and 5 steals for the winners. Forward Palmi Jonsson (196-93) chipped in 20 points and 7 rebounds. Thomas is a former Eurobasket Summer League player, which is considered top international summer league in the market. Four Thor AK players scored in double figures. Lithuanian point guard Dominykas Zupkauskas (183-96) produced 14 points, 6 rebounds and 5 assists and naturalized American forward Darrell Flake (193-80, college: McKendree) added 9 points and 6 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Thor AK have an impressive series of six victories in a row.
