Tenth-ranked Forssan Koripojat (3-11) gave a tough game to third ranked Kristika Turku (12-2) on Friday. The visitors from Turun managed to secure only two-point victory 81-79. However their fans expected much easier game. The guests trailed by 3 points after first quarter, but they rallied back to get the 7-point lead at the halftime then Forssan Koripojat managed to tie the game at the end of regular time. However that was Kristika Turku who were better in overtime eventually winning that period 7-5. Kristika Turku outrebounded Forssan Koripojat 57-44 including 45 on the defensive glass. It was a great evening for power forward Mikael Aalto (205-94) who led his team to a victory with a double-double by scoring 17 points and 11 rebounds. Joona Tuomala (197-97) helped adding 14 points and 11 rebounds. Five Kristika Turku players scored in double figures. The best for the losing side was American guard Isaac Williams (195-94, college: Miss.Valley St.) with a double-double by scoring 29 points, 16 rebounds, 7 assists and 4 steals and the other American import center Gilbert Talbot (208-94, college: LSU-Alexandria) produced a double-double by scoring 26 points and 14 rebounds. Kristika Turku moved-up to second place in Division. Loser Forssan Koripojat keeps the tenth position with 11 games lost. Kristika Turku will face league's leader Lahti at home in the next round and it will be for sure the game of the week. Forssan Koripojat will play against Jyvaskyla BA (#7) and hope to win that game.
