Regular Season Round 33: Shinshu BW - Hiroshima D. 81-59

Round in B2 League means a new league leader. The biggest surprise took place in Nagano where host Shinshu BW (27-6) crushed league's leader Dragonflies (24-9) 81-59 on Saturday evening. It ended at the same time the six-game winning streak of Dragonflies. Shinshu BW forced 20 Dragonflies turnovers. They looked well-organized offensively handing out 23 assists. The game was dominated by American players. The best player for the winners was Anthony McHenry (202-83, college: Georgia Tech) who had a double-double by scoring 22 points, 10 rebounds and 8 assists. Center Wayne Marshall (211-86, college: Temple) chipped in a double-double by scoring 22 points and 14 rebounds. Four Shinshu BW players scored in double figures. At the other side the best for losing team was center Eric Thompson (204-93, college: Pacific) who recorded 8 points and 16 rebounds and power forward Jamari Traylor (203-92, college: Kansas) added 18 points and 5 rebounds respectively. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Shinshu BW maintains first place with 27-6 record which they share with defeated Dragonflies. Newly promoted Dragonflies still keep top position with nine games lost. They were joined at the leadership position by Shinshu BW who have the same record.
