Regular Season Round 16: Costa Masnaga - Crema 69-72

The most exciting game of round 16 in the Serie A2 took place in Masnaga. This derby game ended with only three-point home defeat of their biggest opponent Costa Masnaga (13-3) to third ranked Team Crema (13-3) 72-69 on Saturday evening. Guard Paola Caccialanza (172-89) fired 14 points for the winners. Guard Francesca Melchiori (174-93, agency: SPORTlab Agency) chipped in 11 points and 5 assists. Latvian power forward Liga Vente (191-91, college: Eckerd) produced 20 points and 9 rebounds and power forward Giulia Rulli (184-91, agency: SPORTlab Agency) added 13 points and 11 rebounds respectively for lost side. Five Team Crema and four Costa Masnaga players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Team Crema maintains third position in A2 with 13-3 record behind leader Alpo VF. Team Crema are looking forward to face Ponzano (#14) in Veneto in the next round which should be an easy win for them. Costa Masnaga will play on the road against Moncalieri (#4) and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
