Very expected game when bottom-ranked Cerdanyola (0-13) lost at home to seventh ranked GDKO Bizkaia (7-7) 72-58 on Saturday. Forward Laura Arroyo (180-91) orchestrated the victory by scoring 15 points and 9 rebounds. American guard Peyton Ferris (175-93, college: Montana St.) contributed with 19 points for the winners. Center Marta Arbizu (187-91) replied with 15 points and 5 rebounds and Laura Arias (177-93) added 16 points in the effort for Cerdanyola. Both teams had four players each who scored in double figures. Both coaches tested many bench players and allowed the starting five to get some rest. GDKO Bizkaia moved-up to sixth place in Group A. Newly promoted Cerdanyola still closes the standings with 13 games lost. GDKO Bizkaia will face Mataro Parc (#9) in the next round. Cerdanyola will play against Aros Patatas (#3) in Leon and hopes to get finally their first victory.
