The most interesting game of round 18 in the LEB Gold was only three-point a home defeat of 7th ranked Ourense (10-8) to sixth ranked CB Granada (11-7) 83-80. It ended the five-game winning streak of Ourense. CB Granada made 20-of-25 free shots (80.0 percent) during the game. The former international center Guillem Rubio (202-82) scored 23 points and 6 rebounds (went 12 for 12 at the free throw line !!!) to lead the charge for the winners and guard Manuel Rodriguez (192-91) chipped in 21 points during the contest. The best for the losing side was naturalized Venezuelan guard Jhornan Zamora (196-89) with 20 points and 5 assists and American center Earl Watson (201-90, college: Rhode Island) scored 15 points and 5 rebounds (on 7-of-9 shooting from the field). Four Ourense players scored in double figures. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. CB Granada have a solid three-game winning streak. They moved-up to fourth place, which they share with Oviedo and Palencia. Ourense at the other side keeps the seventh position with eight games lost. They share it with Melilla and Valladolid. CB Granada is looking forward to face Melilla Baloncesto (#8) at home in the next round. Ourense will play against Real Canoe in Madrid and is hoping to prove to their fans that this time they can win.
