There was a minor upset in San Martino di L where 12th ranked San Martino (5-11) was outplayed by fifteenth ranked Bolzano AV (3-13) 65-44 on Saturday. Bolzano AV forced 28 San Martino turnovers. Strangely San Martino outrebounded Bolzano AV 44-32 including 29 on the defensive glass. Luxembourg forward Nadia Mossong (182-86, college: E.Kentucky) fired a double-double by scoring 28 points and 10 rebounds for the winners. Guard Lucrezia Zanetti (175-97) chipped in 16 points and 4 assists. Guard Francesca Beraldo (172-99) produced 8 points, 6 rebounds and 4 assists and swingman Anna Profaiser (177-0) added 10 points and 7 rebounds respectively for lost side. The winner was already known earlier in the game, so both coaches allowed to play the bench players saving starting five for next games. Newly promoted Bolzano AV maintains fifteenth position in A2 with 3-13 record. Loser San Martino dropped to the thirteenth place with 11 games lost. Bolzano AV will face higher ranked Scrivia (#5) at home in the next round and they do not belong to the favorites in that game.
