Tralee (#4) was upset in Tralee by seventh ranked UCC Demons 75-70. They made 20-of-22 charity shots (90.9 percent) during the game. Tralee was plagued by 24 personal fouls down the stretch. The former international forward Colin OReilly (200-84, college: Post) notched a double-double by scoring 13 points and 16 rebounds to lead the effort and American guard Brandon Watts (193, college: UNC Pembroke) supported him with 15 points, 10 rebounds and 5 assists. Four UCC Demons players scored in double figures. Even a triple-double of 16 points, 10 rebounds and 10 assists by Eoin Quigley did not help to save the game for Tralee. American forward Keith Jumper (203-94, college: Pfeiffer) added 22 points, 12 rebounds and 6 blocks (on 10-of-13 shooting from the field) for the hosts. UCC Demons maintains seventh position with 7-7 record. Defending champion Tralee dropped to the second place with four games lost. UCC Demons will play against bottom-ranked Moycullen (#12) in Galway in the next round where they are favorite. Tralee will play at home against DCU Saints (#6) and hopes to get back on the winning track.
