Regular Season Round 17: Siena Virtus - Alba 64-69

No shocking result in a game when sixth ranked Alba (11-6) defeated on the road 16th ranked Siena Virtus (2-14) 69-64 on Saturday. Alba forced 19 Siena Virtus turnovers. Siena Virtus were plagued by 25 personal fouls down the stretch. The best player for the winners was power forward Giacomo DellAgnello (200-94) who scored 18 points, 7 rebounds and 4 assists (was perfect 8-for-8 from the free throw line). Forward Luca Antonietti (198-94, agency: Octagon Europe) chipped in 20 points and 6 rebounds (on 8-of-10 shooting from the field). Alessandro Nepi (186-93) produced 13 points and 6 assists and Alessandro Pucci (198-96) added 12 points respectively for the hosts. Both coaches used bench players in such tough game. Alba moved-up to third place in B, which they share with Orzinuovi and Padova. Newly promoted Siena Virtus keep the sixteenth position with 14 games lost. Alba will face LTC Sangiorg. (#8) in San Giorgio in the next round which should be theoretically an easy game. Siena Virtus will play on the road against Fiorentina (#3) in Firenze and hope to win that game.
