Everything went according to plan when second ranked Ardoi (12-1) beat on the road 8th ranked Santurtzi (5-8) 79-73 on Saturday. Guard Pope Urtasun (187-80) stepped up and scored 19 points and 7 rebounds for the winners and naturalized Ukrainian forward Anton Savitski (196-86) chipped in 16 points and 10 rebounds. Four Ardoi players scored in double figures. Juan Torres (196-92) responded with a double-double by scoring 13 points and 17 rebounds and forward Unai Mendicote (196-99) scored 20 points. Santurtzi's coach Miguel Angel Fernandez rotated ten players in this game, but that didn't help. Ardoi have an impressive series of ten victories in a row. They keep a position of Group A-A leader, which they share with Univ.Burgos. Loser Santurtzi keeps the eighth place with eight games lost. Ardoi will face Pas Pielagos (#3) in Renedo de Pielagos in the next round, which may be the game of the day. Santurtzi will play at home against Easo (#12) and hope to win that game.
