Regular Season Round 17: Pozuelo - Alcobendas 66-70

There was no surprise when 9th ranked Pozuelo (7-9) was defeated at home by fourth ranked Alcobendas (11-4) 70-66 on Saturday. Alcobendas outrebounded Pozuelo 47-31 including a 17-5 advantage in offensive rebounds. Guard Gabriel Diaz-Morera (197-89) stepped up with a double-double by scoring 25 points and 13 rebounds for the winners and center Pablo Rodrigo (204-86) chipped in 8 points and 11 rebounds. Guard Alberto Arias (188-89) responded with 11 points and 4 assists and power forward Daniel Busto (203-92, college: Ohlone CC) scored 12 points. Both coaches allowed to play bench players in such tough game. Alcobendas maintains fourth place in Group B with 11-4 record. Newly promoted Pozuelo dropped to the eleventh position with nine games lost. Alcobendas will face Estudio (#8) in Madrid in the next round. Pozuelo will play on the road against Lanzarote in Arrecife and it may be a tough game between close rivals.
